Meet Carolyne
I've spent decades in publishing, including over 10 years as a freelance writer, time as Editor-in-Chief for Dirt Rag and Adventure Cyclist magazines, and my current position as Editorial Director for Overland Expo. I have four published poetry chapbooks, a how-to eBook published by Bicycling/Hearst, and over a hundred publications from poetry to personal essay, investigative journalism, and recipes. I've earned a BA and an MFA in Creative Writing.
I'm also a longtime educator, primarily teaching writing to anyone who wants to better their storytelling or arguing skills — eight-year-olds who want to convince their classroom who the best rugby player is, 78-year-olds who want to convince their grandchildren to be generous, and graduate students searching for the perfect word to describe the wall coloring of an imaginary room they want the world to see have all been my cherished students." And then the paragraphs you have here.
I give writers at all levels the tools to read their work like an editor, open up their creativity, and communicate effectively with editors from pitch to payment. My joy is in seeing writers grow their competence and confidence as they learn to be critical but not judgmental of their own work.

"All the fun’s in how you say a thing."
