Feel like your creativity needs a breath of fresh air?

✔︎ Are you longing to reconnect with your creative voice, but unsure where to begin?

✔︎ Maybe you've been writing on your own for years but feel disconnected, uninspired, or held back by perfectionism.

✔︎ You know your ideas are great but when it comes time to write them down, you find yourself muddling your own message, drowning in disclaimers, or can't connect with who you're "supposed" to be.

You want to move your body, clear your mind, and write without pressure or judgment.

While initially intended to informally bridge the gap between writer and editor and give writers a chance to ask questions in the casual setting of a bike ride or nature walk, the true power of this time together has been transformative for attendees.

An editor at a prominent outdoor magazine came away reintroduced to their own writing voice and creative energy after writing in the style of their brand for so long. Perfectionist professional editors who were at first adamant against sharing their work with others — especially unpolished drafts — were excited volunteers by the last day, eager to get back to the house to share their freshly penned work with everyone. And people who had no formal experience with other writers and no intention of publishing had the transcendent experience of talking craft in a supportive environment; they learned to think of their writing as more than journal entries or notes, but powerful creative expressions worth giving attention to and sculpting to the point where they feel heard — even if only by themselves.

This isn’t a retreat where you lock yourself in a room to finish a book in silence

(THOUGH IT CAN BE IF YOU’RE INSPIRED TO DO SO)

This is a retreat to crack open your creativity, give yourself permission to try new things, and feel supported as you learn to trust your instincts.

The permission and agency gained from these retreats spans beyond writing and lasts long after our time together.

"My writing retreats blend movement, ritual, and nature to help you unlock your creativity and strengthen your storytelling."

AMONG FELLOW WRITERS ON 200 PRIVATE ACRES NEAR TAOS, YOU’LL SPEND FOUR NIGHTS IMMERSED IN NATURE, CREATIVITY, AND COMMUNITY.

Northern New Mexico in the fall is one of the most breathtaking places on earth. Wildflowers, lavender, sagebrush, and juniper abound in one direction, while in the other the aspen leaves turn golden and glisten in the sun. Deer, rabbit, and field mice make early morning tracks. We will hike among quivering aspen and red rock, pausing along the way with writing prompts and discussions on the creative process and the world of publishing.

You’ll learn to love your unedited, creative self again.

Each day offers a mix of structured activities and spacious time to reflect, write, move, and connect with both the natural world and your own voice. You'll also receive personalized feedback on your writing, and participate in workshops designed to bring confidence and joy to your craft.

We will be led into a deeper connection with the Elements and how they guide our creativity.

We will:

✔︎ Build community and create a space for sharing, openness, and expression
✔︎ Begin each day with an (optional) dawn ritual to greet the day
✔︎ Free ourselves from unhelpful expectations through ceremony
✔︎ Participate in (optional) hikes on 200 private acres
✔︎ Share work, and provide and receive feedback within set supportive parameters
✔︎ Learn to love our unedited creative selves

I designed these retreats for writers like you, who were built for wandering but gifted with storytelling, whether you’ve ever been published or not. We will integrate movement, connection, quiet time, and spontaneous writing prompts to break through writer’s block, build a space for connection and freedom to create, and feel safe and invited to share your messy first drafts.

How It Works

Signup includes an onboarding form where you can share your goals for the retreat, submit a writing sample, and pay either a deposit (non-refundable) or pay in full (partially refundable).

After that, you can begin booking your flights or planning your drive. Tickets into Santa Fe are the best option, as it's cheaper than Taos, and I will be offering a complementary shuttle to/from the Santa Fe airport on the 25th and 29th. Additional travel support may be available.

I’ll also email you a packing list, ideas for things to do in the area, and shuttle details based on incoming flight times. We’ll offer shuttle service from the Santa Fe Airport on September 25, bringing you to our luxury cabin in Guadalupita, on the outskirts of the infamous mountain bike park Angel Fire (feel free to bring you DH bike) and just minutes from the legendary artist community of Taos.

From there, we’ll write, workshop, hike, share, and so much more.

The retreat officially ends the evening of September 28, but you're welcome to stay overnight and depart the morning of September 29. This gives you time to process, decompress, explore Taos, and begin integrating everything from the weekend.

Return shuttles to Santa Fe will run dependent on flight needs, late September 28 or Mid-morning September 29.

Partial refunds will be available up until a week before the event. Transfers to a fellow writer are allowed. Funds not refunded may be used as a deposit for a future retreat (please email to discuss this option).

Testimonials

“I thought I lost my own voice. Working for a big publication, my own voice has been muffled so long I forgot what she sounded like. By the end of this retreat, I can hear myself again.”

Come write, move, and reconnect.
